About Surah Ya-Sin
Surah Ya-Sin (يس), meaning “Ya-Sin”, is the 36th surah of the Holy Quran. It is a Meccan surah, revealed in Mecca, consisting of 83 verses (ayat). It spans 12 pages in this transliteration edition, from page 883 to page 894, and falls within Juz 22 of the Quran.

- 2Verse 2
وَٱلۡقُرۡءَانِ ٱلۡحَكِيمِ
Waalqurani alhakeemiBy the wise Qur'an
- 3Verse 3
إِنَّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
Innaka lamina almursaleenaIndeed you, [O Muhammad], are from among the messengers
- 4Verse 4
عَلَىٰ صِرَٰطٖ مُّسۡتَقِيمٖ
AAala siratin mustaqeeminOn a straight path
- 5Verse 5
تَنزِيلَ ٱلۡعَزِيزِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Tanzeela alAAazeezi alrraheemi[This is] a revelation of the Exalted in Might, the Merciful
- 6Verse 6
لِتُنذِرَ قَوۡمٗا مَّآ أُنذِرَ ءَابَآؤُهُمۡ فَهُمۡ غَٰفِلُونَ
Litunthira qawman ma onthira abaohum fahum ghafiloonaThat you may warn a people whose forefathers were not warned, so they are unaware
- 7Verse 7
لَقَدۡ حَقَّ ٱلۡقَوۡلُ عَلَىٰٓ أَكۡثَرِهِمۡ فَهُمۡ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ
Laqad haqqa alqawlu AAala aktharihim fahum la yuminoonaAlready the word has come into effect upon most of them, so they do not believe
- 8Verse 8
إِنَّا جَعَلۡنَا فِيٓ أَعۡنَٰقِهِمۡ أَغۡلَٰلٗا فَهِيَ إِلَى ٱلۡأَذۡقَانِ فَهُم مُّقۡمَحُونَ
Inna jaAAalna fee aAAnaqihim aghlalan fahiya ila alathqani fahum muqmahoonaIndeed, We have put shackles on their necks, and they are to their chins, so they are with heads [kept] aloft
- 9Verse 9
وَجَعَلۡنَا مِنۢ بَيۡنِ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ سَدّٗا وَمِنۡ خَلۡفِهِمۡ سَدّٗا فَأَغۡشَيۡنَٰهُمۡ فَهُمۡ لَا يُبۡصِرُونَ
WajaAAalna min bayni aydeehim saddan wamin khalfihim saddan faaghshaynahum fahum la yubsiroonaAnd We have put before them a barrier and behind them a barrier and covered them, so they do not see
- 10Verse 10
وَسَوَآءٌ عَلَيۡهِمۡ ءَأَنذَرۡتَهُمۡ أَمۡ لَمۡ تُنذِرۡهُمۡ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ
Wasawaon AAalayhim aanthartahum am lam tunthirhum la yuminoonaAnd it is all the same for them whether you warn them or do not warn them - they will not believe
- 11Verse 11
إِنَّمَا تُنذِرُ مَنِ ٱتَّبَعَ ٱلذِّكۡرَ وَخَشِيَ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنَ بِٱلۡغَيۡبِۖ فَبَشِّرۡهُ بِمَغۡفِرَةٖ وَأَجۡرٖ كَرِيمٍ
Innama tunthiru mani ittabaAAa alththikra wakhashiya alrrahmana bialghaybi fabashshirhu bimaghfiratin waajrin kareeminYou can only warn one who follows the message and fears the Most Merciful unseen. So give him good tidings of forgiveness and noble reward
- 12Verse 12
إِنَّا نَحۡنُ نُحۡيِ ٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰ وَنَكۡتُبُ مَا قَدَّمُواْ وَءَاثَٰرَهُمۡۚ وَكُلَّ شَيۡءٍ أَحۡصَيۡنَٰهُ فِيٓ إِمَامٖ مُّبِينٖ
Inna nahnu nuhyee almawta wanaktubu ma qaddamoo waatharahum wakulla shayin ahsaynahu fee imamin mubeeninIndeed, it is We who bring the dead to life and record what they have put forth and what they left behind, and all things We have enumerated in a clear register
- 13Verse 13
وَٱضۡرِبۡ لَهُم مَّثَلًا أَصۡحَٰبَ ٱلۡقَرۡيَةِ إِذۡ جَآءَهَا ٱلۡمُرۡسَلُونَ
Waidrib lahum mathalan ashaba alqaryati ith jaaha almursaloonaAnd present to them an example: the people of the city, when the messengers came to it
- 14Verse 14
إِذۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَآ إِلَيۡهِمُ ٱثۡنَيۡنِ فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا فَعَزَّزۡنَا بِثَالِثٖ فَقَالُوٓاْ إِنَّآ إِلَيۡكُم مُّرۡسَلُونَ
Ith arsalna ilayhimu ithnayni fakaththaboohuma faAAazzazna bithalithin faqaloo inna ilaykum mursaloonaWhen We sent to them two but they denied them, so We strengthened them with a third, and they said, "Indeed, we are messengers to you
- 15Verse 15
قَالُواْ مَآ أَنتُمۡ إِلَّا بَشَرٞ مِّثۡلُنَا وَمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ مِن شَيۡءٍ إِنۡ أَنتُمۡ إِلَّا تَكۡذِبُونَ
Qaloo ma antum illa basharun mithluna wama anzala alrrahmanu min shayin in antum illa takthiboonaThey said, "You are not but human beings like us, and the Most Merciful has not revealed a thing. You are only telling lies
- 16Verse 16
قَالُواْ رَبُّنَا يَعۡلَمُ إِنَّآ إِلَيۡكُمۡ لَمُرۡسَلُونَ
Qaloo rabbuna yaAAlamu inna ilaykum lamursaloonaThey said, "Our Lord knows that we are messengers to you
- 17Verse 17
وَمَا عَلَيۡنَآ إِلَّا ٱلۡبَلَٰغُ ٱلۡمُبِينُ
Wama AAalayna illa albalaghu almubeenuAnd we are not responsible except for clear notification
- 18Verse 18
قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّا تَطَيَّرۡنَا بِكُمۡۖ لَئِن لَّمۡ تَنتَهُواْ لَنَرۡجُمَنَّكُمۡ وَلَيَمَسَّنَّكُم مِّنَّا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٞ
Qaloo inna tatayyarna bikum lain lam tantahoo lanarjumannakum walayamassannakum minna AAathabun aleemunThey said, "Indeed, we consider you a bad omen. If you do not desist, we will surely stone you, and there will surely touch you, from us, a painful punishment
- 19Verse 19
قَالُواْ طَـٰٓئِرُكُم مَّعَكُمۡ أَئِن ذُكِّرۡتُمۚ بَلۡ أَنتُمۡ قَوۡمٞ مُّسۡرِفُونَ
Qaloo tairukum maAAakum ain thukkirtum bal antum qawmun musrifoonaThey said, "Your omen is with yourselves. Is it because you were reminded? Rather, you are a transgressing people
- 20Verse 20
وَجَآءَ مِنۡ أَقۡصَا ٱلۡمَدِينَةِ رَجُلٞ يَسۡعَىٰ قَالَ يَٰقَوۡمِ ٱتَّبِعُواْ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
Wajaa min aqsa almadeenati rajulun yasAAa qala ya qawmi ittabiAAoo almursaleenaAnd there came from the farthest end of the city a man, running. He said, "O my people, follow the messengers
- 21Verse 21
ٱتَّبِعُواْ مَن لَّا يَسۡـَٔلُكُمۡ أَجۡرٗا وَهُم مُّهۡتَدُونَ
IttabiAAoo man la yasalukum ajran wahum muhtadoonaFollow those who do not ask of you [any] payment, and they are [rightly] guided
- 22Verse 22
وَمَالِيَ لَآ أَعۡبُدُ ٱلَّذِي فَطَرَنِي وَإِلَيۡهِ تُرۡجَعُونَ
Wama liya la aAAbudu allathee fataranee wailayhi turjaAAoonaAnd why should I not worship He who created me and to whom you will be returned
- 23Verse 23
ءَأَتَّخِذُ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ ءَالِهَةً إِن يُرِدۡنِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ بِضُرّٖ لَّا تُغۡنِ عَنِّي شَفَٰعَتُهُمۡ شَيۡـٔٗا وَلَا يُنقِذُونِ
Aattakhithu min doonihi alihatan in yuridni alrrahmanu bidurrin la tughni AAannee shafaAAatuhum shayan wala yunqithooniShould I take other than Him [false] deities [while], if the Most Merciful intends for me some adversity, their intercession will not avail me at all, nor can they save me
- 24Verse 24
إِنِّيٓ إِذٗا لَّفِي ضَلَٰلٖ مُّبِينٍ
Innee ithan lafee dalalin mubeeninIndeed, I would then be in manifest error
- 25Verse 25
إِنِّيٓ ءَامَنتُ بِرَبِّكُمۡ فَٱسۡمَعُونِ
Innee amantu birabbikum faismaAAooniIndeed, I have believed in your Lord, so listen to me
- 26Verse 26
قِيلَ ٱدۡخُلِ ٱلۡجَنَّةَۖ قَالَ يَٰلَيۡتَ قَوۡمِي يَعۡلَمُونَ
Qeela odkhuli aljannata qala ya layta qawmee yaAAlamoonaIt was said, "Enter Paradise." He said, "I wish my people could know
- 27Verse 27
بِمَا غَفَرَ لِي رَبِّي وَجَعَلَنِي مِنَ ٱلۡمُكۡرَمِينَ
Bima ghafara lee rabbee wajaAAalanee mina almukrameenaOf how my Lord has forgiven me and placed me among the honored
- 28Verse 28
۞وَمَآ أَنزَلۡنَا عَلَىٰ قَوۡمِهِۦ مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِۦ مِن جُندٖ مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَمَا كُنَّا مُنزِلِينَ
Wama anzalna AAala qawmihi min baAAdihi min jundin mina alssamai wama kunna munzileenaAnd We did not send down upon his people after him any soldiers from the heaven, nor would We have done so
- 29Verse 29
إِن كَانَتۡ إِلَّا صَيۡحَةٗ وَٰحِدَةٗ فَإِذَا هُمۡ خَٰمِدُونَ
In kanat illa sayhatan wahidatan faitha hum khamidoonaIt was not but one shout, and immediately they were extinguished
- 30Verse 30
يَٰحَسۡرَةً عَلَى ٱلۡعِبَادِۚ مَا يَأۡتِيهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ
Ya hasratan AAala alAAibadi ma yateehim min rasoolin illa kanoo bihi yastahzioonaHow regretful for the servants. There did not come to them any messenger except that they used to ridicule him
- 31Verse 31
أَلَمۡ يَرَوۡاْ كَمۡ أَهۡلَكۡنَا قَبۡلَهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡقُرُونِ أَنَّهُمۡ إِلَيۡهِمۡ لَا يَرۡجِعُونَ
Alam yaraw kam ahlakna qablahum mina alqurooni annahum ilayhim la yarjiAAoonaHave they not considered how many generations We destroyed before them - that they to them will not return
- 32Verse 32
وَإِن كُلّٞ لَّمَّا جَمِيعٞ لَّدَيۡنَا مُحۡضَرُونَ
Wain kullun lamma jameeAAun ladayna muhdaroonaAnd indeed, all of them will yet be brought present before Us
- 33Verse 33
وَءَايَةٞ لَّهُمُ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ ٱلۡمَيۡتَةُ أَحۡيَيۡنَٰهَا وَأَخۡرَجۡنَا مِنۡهَا حَبّٗا فَمِنۡهُ يَأۡكُلُونَ
Waayatun lahumu alardu almaytatu ahyaynaha waakhrajna minha habban faminhu yakuloonaAnd a sign for them is the dead earth. We have brought it to life and brought forth from it grain, and from it they eat
- 34Verse 34
وَجَعَلۡنَا فِيهَا جَنَّـٰتٖ مِّن نَّخِيلٖ وَأَعۡنَٰبٖ وَفَجَّرۡنَا فِيهَا مِنَ ٱلۡعُيُونِ
WajaAAalna feeha jannatin min nakheelin waaAAnabin wafajjarna feeha mina alAAuyooniAnd We placed therein gardens of palm trees and grapevines and caused to burst forth therefrom some springs
- 35Verse 35
لِيَأۡكُلُواْ مِن ثَمَرِهِۦ وَمَا عَمِلَتۡهُ أَيۡدِيهِمۡۚ أَفَلَا يَشۡكُرُونَ
Liyakuloo min thamarihi wama AAamilathu aydeehim afala yashkuroonaThat they may eat of His fruit. And their hands have not produced it, so will they not be grateful
- 36Verse 36
سُبۡحَٰنَ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ ٱلۡأَزۡوَٰجَ كُلَّهَا مِمَّا تُنۢبِتُ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ وَمِنۡ أَنفُسِهِمۡ وَمِمَّا لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ
Subhana allathee khalaqa alazwaja kullaha mimma tunbitu alardu wamin anfusihim wamimma la yaAAlamoonaExalted is He who created all pairs - from what the earth grows and from themselves and from that which they do not know
- 37Verse 37
وَءَايَةٞ لَّهُمُ ٱلَّيۡلُ نَسۡلَخُ مِنۡهُ ٱلنَّهَارَ فَإِذَا هُم مُّظۡلِمُونَ
Waayatun lahumu allaylu naslakhu minhu alnnahara faitha hum muthlimoonaAnd a sign for them is the night. We remove from it [the light of] day, so they are [left] in darkness
- 38Verse 38
وَٱلشَّمۡسُ تَجۡرِي لِمُسۡتَقَرّٖ لَّهَاۚ ذَٰلِكَ تَقۡدِيرُ ٱلۡعَزِيزِ ٱلۡعَلِيمِ
Waalshshamsu tajree limustaqarrin laha thalika taqdeeru alAAazeezi alAAaleemiAnd the sun runs [on course] toward its stopping point. That is the determination of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing
- 39Verse 39
وَٱلۡقَمَرَ قَدَّرۡنَٰهُ مَنَازِلَ حَتَّىٰ عَادَ كَٱلۡعُرۡجُونِ ٱلۡقَدِيمِ
Waalqamara qaddarnahu manazila hatta AAada kaalAAurjooni alqadeemiAnd the moon - We have determined for it phases, until it returns [appearing] like the old date stalk
- 40Verse 40
لَا ٱلشَّمۡسُ يَنۢبَغِي لَهَآ أَن تُدۡرِكَ ٱلۡقَمَرَ وَلَا ٱلَّيۡلُ سَابِقُ ٱلنَّهَارِۚ وَكُلّٞ فِي فَلَكٖ يَسۡبَحُونَ
La alshshamsu yanbaghee laha an tudrika alqamara wala allaylu sabiqu alnnahari wakullun fee falakin yasbahoonaIt is not allowable for the sun to reach the moon, nor does the night overtake the day, but each, in an orbit, is swimming
- 41Verse 41
وَءَايَةٞ لَّهُمۡ أَنَّا حَمَلۡنَا ذُرِّيَّتَهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡفُلۡكِ ٱلۡمَشۡحُونِ
Waayatun lahum anna hamalna thurriyyatahum fee alfulki almashhooniAnd a sign for them is that We carried their forefathers in a laden ship
- 42Verse 42
وَخَلَقۡنَا لَهُم مِّن مِّثۡلِهِۦ مَا يَرۡكَبُونَ
Wakhalaqna lahum min mithlihi ma yarkaboonaAnd We created for them from the likes of it that which they ride
- 43Verse 43
وَإِن نَّشَأۡ نُغۡرِقۡهُمۡ فَلَا صَرِيخَ لَهُمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ يُنقَذُونَ
Wain nasha nughriqhum fala sareekha lahum wala hum yunqathoonaAnd if We should will, We could drown them; then no one responding to a cry would there be for them, nor would they be saved
- 44Verse 44
إِلَّا رَحۡمَةٗ مِّنَّا وَمَتَٰعًا إِلَىٰ حِينٖ
Illa rahmatan minna wamataAAan ila heeninExcept as a mercy from Us and provision for a time
- 45Verse 45
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱتَّقُواْ مَا بَيۡنَ أَيۡدِيكُمۡ وَمَا خَلۡفَكُمۡ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تُرۡحَمُونَ
Waitha qeela lahumu ittaqoo ma bayna aydeekum wama khalfakum laAAallakum turhamoonaBut when it is said to them, "Beware of what is before you and what is behind you; perhaps you will receive mercy
- 46Verse 46
وَمَا تَأۡتِيهِم مِّنۡ ءَايَةٖ مِّنۡ ءَايَٰتِ رَبِّهِمۡ إِلَّا كَانُواْ عَنۡهَا مُعۡرِضِينَ
Wama tateehim min ayatin min ayati rabbihim illa kanoo AAanha muAArideenaAnd no sign comes to them from the signs of their Lord except that they are from it turning away
- 47Verse 47
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمۡ أَنفِقُواْ مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ أَنُطۡعِمُ مَن لَّوۡ يَشَآءُ ٱللَّهُ أَطۡعَمَهُۥٓ إِنۡ أَنتُمۡ إِلَّا فِي ضَلَٰلٖ مُّبِينٖ
Waitha qeela lahum anfiqoo mimma razaqakumu Allahu qala allatheena kafaroo lillatheena amanoo anutAAimu man law yashao Allahu atAAamahu in antum illa fee dalalin mubeeninAnd when it is said to them, "Spend from that which Allah has provided for you," those who disbelieve say to those who believe, "Should we feed one whom, if Allah had willed, He would have fed? You are not but in clear error
- 48Verse 48
وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَٰذَا ٱلۡوَعۡدُ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ
Wayaqooloona mata hatha alwaAAdu in kuntum sadiqeenaAnd they say, "When is this promise, if you should be truthful
- 49Verse 49
مَا يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا صَيۡحَةٗ وَٰحِدَةٗ تَأۡخُذُهُمۡ وَهُمۡ يَخِصِّمُونَ
Ma yanthuroona illa sayhatan wahidatan takhuthuhum wahum yakhissimoonaThey do not await except one blast which will seize them while they are disputing
- 50Verse 50
فَلَا يَسۡتَطِيعُونَ تَوۡصِيَةٗ وَلَآ إِلَىٰٓ أَهۡلِهِمۡ يَرۡجِعُونَ
Fala yastateeAAoona tawsiyatan wala ila ahlihim yarjiAAoonaAnd they will not be able [to give] any instruction, nor to their people can they return
- 51Verse 51
وَنُفِخَ فِي ٱلصُّورِ فَإِذَا هُم مِّنَ ٱلۡأَجۡدَاثِ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمۡ يَنسِلُونَ
Wanufikha fee alssoori faitha hum mina alajdathi ila rabbihim yansiloonaAnd the Horn will be blown; and at once from the graves to their Lord they will hasten
- 52Verse 52
قَالُواْ يَٰوَيۡلَنَا مَنۢ بَعَثَنَا مِن مَّرۡقَدِنَاۜۗ هَٰذَا مَا وَعَدَ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ وَصَدَقَ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلُونَ
Qaloo ya waylana man baAAathana min marqadina hatha ma waAAada alrrahmanu wasadaqa almursaloonaThey will say, "O woe to us! Who has raised us up from our sleeping place?" [The reply will be], "This is what the Most Merciful had promised, and the messengers told the truth
- 53Verse 53
إِن كَانَتۡ إِلَّا صَيۡحَةٗ وَٰحِدَةٗ فَإِذَا هُمۡ جَمِيعٞ لَّدَيۡنَا مُحۡضَرُونَ
In kanat illa sayhatan wahidatan faitha hum jameeAAun ladayna muhdaroonaIt will not be but one blast, and at once they are all brought present before Us
- 54Verse 54
فَٱلۡيَوۡمَ لَا تُظۡلَمُ نَفۡسٞ شَيۡـٔٗا وَلَا تُجۡزَوۡنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ
Faalyawma la tuthlamu nafsun shayan wala tujzawna illa ma kuntum taAAmaloonaSo today no soul will be wronged at all, and you will not be recompensed except for what you used to do
- 55Verse 55
إِنَّ أَصۡحَٰبَ ٱلۡجَنَّةِ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ فِي شُغُلٖ فَٰكِهُونَ
Inna ashaba aljannati alyawma fee shughulin fakihoonaIndeed the companions of Paradise, that Day, will be amused in [joyful] occupation
- 56Verse 56
هُمۡ وَأَزۡوَٰجُهُمۡ فِي ظِلَٰلٍ عَلَى ٱلۡأَرَآئِكِ مُتَّكِـُٔونَ
Hum waazwajuhum fee thilalin AAala alaraiki muttakioonaThey and their spouses - in shade, reclining on adorned couches
- 57Verse 57
لَهُمۡ فِيهَا فَٰكِهَةٞ وَلَهُم مَّا يَدَّعُونَ
Lahum feeha fakihatun walahum ma yaddaAAoonaFor them therein is fruit, and for them is whatever they request [or wish]
- 58Verse 58
سَلَٰمٞ قَوۡلٗا مِّن رَّبّٖ رَّحِيمٖ
Salamun qawlan min rabbin raheemin[And] "Peace," a word from a Merciful Lord
- 59Verse 59
وَٱمۡتَٰزُواْ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ أَيُّهَا ٱلۡمُجۡرِمُونَ
Waimtazoo alyawma ayyuha almujrimoona[Then He will say], "But stand apart today, you criminals
- 60Verse 60
۞أَلَمۡ أَعۡهَدۡ إِلَيۡكُمۡ يَٰبَنِيٓ ءَادَمَ أَن لَّا تَعۡبُدُواْ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنَۖ إِنَّهُۥ لَكُمۡ عَدُوّٞ مُّبِينٞ
Alam aAAhad ilaykum ya banee adama an la taAAbudoo alshshaytana innahu lakum AAaduwwun mubeenunDid I not enjoin upon you, O children of Adam, that you not worship Satan - [for] indeed, he is to you a clear enemy
- 61Verse 61
وَأَنِ ٱعۡبُدُونِيۚ هَٰذَا صِرَٰطٞ مُّسۡتَقِيمٞ
Waani oAAbudoonee hatha siratun mustaqeemunAnd that you worship [only] Me? This is a straight path
- 62Verse 62
وَلَقَدۡ أَضَلَّ مِنكُمۡ جِبِلّٗا كَثِيرًاۖ أَفَلَمۡ تَكُونُواْ تَعۡقِلُونَ
Walaqad adalla minkum jibillan katheeran afalam takoonoo taAAqiloonaAnd he had already led astray from among you much of creation, so did you not use reason
- 63Verse 63
هَٰذِهِۦ جَهَنَّمُ ٱلَّتِي كُنتُمۡ تُوعَدُونَ
Hathihi jahannamu allatee kuntum tooAAadoonaThis is the Hellfire which you were promised
- 64Verse 64
ٱصۡلَوۡهَا ٱلۡيَوۡمَ بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَكۡفُرُونَ
Islawha alyawma bima kuntum takfuroona[Enter to] burn therein today for what you used to deny
- 65Verse 65
ٱلۡيَوۡمَ نَخۡتِمُ عَلَىٰٓ أَفۡوَٰهِهِمۡ وَتُكَلِّمُنَآ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ وَتَشۡهَدُ أَرۡجُلُهُم بِمَا كَانُواْ يَكۡسِبُونَ
Alyawma nakhtimu AAala afwahihim watukallimuna aydeehim watashhadu arjuluhum bima kanoo yaksiboonaThat Day, We will seal over their mouths, and their hands will speak to Us, and their feet will testify about what they used to earn
- 66Verse 66
وَلَوۡ نَشَآءُ لَطَمَسۡنَا عَلَىٰٓ أَعۡيُنِهِمۡ فَٱسۡتَبَقُواْ ٱلصِّرَٰطَ فَأَنَّىٰ يُبۡصِرُونَ
Walaw nashao latamasna AAala aAAyunihim faistabaqoo alssirata faanna yubsiroonaAnd if We willed, We could have obliterated their eyes, and they would race to [find] the path, and how could they see
- 67Verse 67
وَلَوۡ نَشَآءُ لَمَسَخۡنَٰهُمۡ عَلَىٰ مَكَانَتِهِمۡ فَمَا ٱسۡتَطَٰعُواْ مُضِيّٗا وَلَا يَرۡجِعُونَ
Walaw nashao lamasakhnahum AAala makanatihim fama istataAAoo mudiyyan wala yarjiAAoonaAnd if We willed, We could have deformed them, [paralyzing them] in their places so they would not be able to proceed, nor could they return
- 68Verse 68
وَمَن نُّعَمِّرۡهُ نُنَكِّسۡهُ فِي ٱلۡخَلۡقِۚ أَفَلَا يَعۡقِلُونَ
Waman nuAAammirhu nunakkishu fee alkhalqi afala yaAAqiloonaAnd he to whom We grant long life We reverse in creation; so will they not understand
- 69Verse 69
وَمَا عَلَّمۡنَٰهُ ٱلشِّعۡرَ وَمَا يَنۢبَغِي لَهُۥٓۚ إِنۡ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكۡرٞ وَقُرۡءَانٞ مُّبِينٞ
Wama AAallamnahu alshshiAAra wama yanbaghee lahu in huwa illa thikrun waquranun mubeenunAnd We did not give Prophet Muhammad, knowledge of poetry, nor is it befitting for him. It is not but a message and a clear Qur'an
- 70Verse 70
لِّيُنذِرَ مَن كَانَ حَيّٗا وَيَحِقَّ ٱلۡقَوۡلُ عَلَى ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
Liyunthira man kana hayyan wayahiqqa alqawlu AAala alkafireenaTo warn whoever is alive and justify the word against the disbelievers
- 71Verse 71
أَوَلَمۡ يَرَوۡاْ أَنَّا خَلَقۡنَا لَهُم مِّمَّا عَمِلَتۡ أَيۡدِينَآ أَنۡعَٰمٗا فَهُمۡ لَهَا مَٰلِكُونَ
Awalam yaraw anna khalaqna lahum mimma AAamilat aydeena anAAaman fahum laha malikoonaDo they not see that We have created for them from what Our hands have made, grazing livestock, and [then] they are their owners
- 72Verse 72
وَذَلَّلۡنَٰهَا لَهُمۡ فَمِنۡهَا رَكُوبُهُمۡ وَمِنۡهَا يَأۡكُلُونَ
Wathallalnaha lahum faminha rakoobuhum waminha yakuloonaAnd We have tamed them for them, so some of them they ride, and some of them they eat
- 73Verse 73
وَلَهُمۡ فِيهَا مَنَٰفِعُ وَمَشَارِبُۚ أَفَلَا يَشۡكُرُونَ
Walahum feeha manafiAAu wamasharibu afala yashkuroonaAnd for them therein are [other] benefits and drinks, so will they not be grateful
- 74Verse 74
وَٱتَّخَذُواْ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ ءَالِهَةٗ لَّعَلَّهُمۡ يُنصَرُونَ
Waittakhathoo min dooni Allahi alihatan laAAallahum yunsaroonaBut they have taken besides Allah [false] deities that perhaps they would be helped
- 75Verse 75
لَا يَسۡتَطِيعُونَ نَصۡرَهُمۡ وَهُمۡ لَهُمۡ جُندٞ مُّحۡضَرُونَ
La yastateeAAoona nasrahum wahum lahum jundun muhdaroonaThey are not able to help them, and they [themselves] are for them soldiers in attendance
- 76Verse 76
فَلَا يَحۡزُنكَ قَوۡلُهُمۡۘ إِنَّا نَعۡلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعۡلِنُونَ
Fala yahzunka qawluhum inna naAAlamu ma yusirroona wama yuAAlinoonaSo let not their speech grieve you. Indeed, We know what they conceal and what they declare
- 77Verse 77
أَوَلَمۡ يَرَ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ أَنَّا خَلَقۡنَٰهُ مِن نُّطۡفَةٖ فَإِذَا هُوَ خَصِيمٞ مُّبِينٞ
Awalam yara alinsanu anna khalaqnahu min nutfatin faitha huwa khaseemun mubeenunDoes man not consider that We created him from a [mere] sperm-drop - then at once he is a clear adversary
- 78Verse 78
وَضَرَبَ لَنَا مَثَلٗا وَنَسِيَ خَلۡقَهُۥۖ قَالَ مَن يُحۡيِ ٱلۡعِظَٰمَ وَهِيَ رَمِيمٞ
Wadaraba lana mathalan wanasiya khalqahu qala man yuhyee alAAithama wahiya rameemunAnd he presents for Us an example and forgets his [own] creation. He says, "Who will give life to bones while they are disintegrated
- 79Verse 79
قُلۡ يُحۡيِيهَا ٱلَّذِيٓ أَنشَأَهَآ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٖۖ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ خَلۡقٍ عَلِيمٌ
Qul yuhyeeha allathee anshaaha awwala marratin wahuwa bikulli khalqin AAaleemunSay, "He will give them life who produced them the first time; and He is, of all creation, Knowing
- 80Verse 80
ٱلَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلشَّجَرِ ٱلۡأَخۡضَرِ نَارٗا فَإِذَآ أَنتُم مِّنۡهُ تُوقِدُونَ
Allathee jaAAala lakum mina alshshajari alakhdari naran faitha antum minhu tooqidoona[It is] He who made for you from the green tree, fire, and then from it you ignite
- 81Verse 81
أَوَلَيۡسَ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ بِقَٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يَخۡلُقَ مِثۡلَهُمۚ بَلَىٰ وَهُوَ ٱلۡخَلَّـٰقُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ
Awalaysa allathee khalaqa alssamawati waalarda biqadirin AAala an yakhluqa mithlahum bala wahuwa alkhallaqu alAAaleemuIs not He who created the heavens and the earth Able to create the likes of them? Yes, [it is so]; and He is the Knowing Creator
- 82Verse 82
إِنَّمَآ أَمۡرُهُۥٓ إِذَآ أَرَادَ شَيۡـًٔا أَن يَقُولَ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ
Innama amruhu itha arada shayan an yaqoola lahu kun fayakoonuHis command is only when He intends a thing that He says to it, "Be," and it is
- 83Verse 83
فَسُبۡحَٰنَ ٱلَّذِي بِيَدِهِۦ مَلَكُوتُ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ وَإِلَيۡهِ تُرۡجَعُونَ
Fasubhana allathee biyadihi malakootu kulli shayin wailayhi turjaAAoonaSo exalted is He in whose hand is the realm of all things, and to Him you will be returned
