About Surah Al-Qiyama

لَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِيَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ
La oqsimu biyawmi alqiyamatiI swear by the Day of Resurrection
- 2Verse 2
وَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِٱلنَّفۡسِ ٱللَّوَّامَةِ
Wala oqsimu bialnnafsi allawwamatiAnd I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]
- 3Verse 3
أَيَحۡسَبُ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ أَلَّن نَّجۡمَعَ عِظَامَهُۥ
Ayahsabu alinsanu allan najmaAAa AAithamahuDoes man think that We will not assemble his bones
- 4Verse 4
بَلَىٰ قَٰدِرِينَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّسَوِّيَ بَنَانَهُۥ
Bala qadireena AAala an nusawwiya bananahuYes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips
- 5Verse 5
بَلۡ يُرِيدُ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ لِيَفۡجُرَ أَمَامَهُۥ
Bal yureedu alinsanu liyafjura amamahuBut man desires to continue in sin
- 6Verse 6
يَسۡـَٔلُ أَيَّانَ يَوۡمُ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ
Yasalu ayyana yawmu alqiyamatiHe asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection
- 7Verse 7
فَإِذَا بَرِقَ ٱلۡبَصَرُ
Faitha bariqa albasaruSo when vision is dazzled
- 8Verse 8
وَخَسَفَ ٱلۡقَمَرُ
Wakhasafa alqamaruAnd the moon darkens
- 9Verse 9
وَجُمِعَ ٱلشَّمۡسُ وَٱلۡقَمَرُ
WajumiAAa alshshamsu waalqamaruAnd the sun and the moon are joined
- 10Verse 10
يَقُولُ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ يَوۡمَئِذٍ أَيۡنَ ٱلۡمَفَرُّ
Yaqoolu alinsanu yawmaithin ayna almafarruMan will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape
- 11Verse 11
كَلَّا لَا وَزَرَ
Kalla la wazaraNo! There is no refuge
- 12Verse 12
إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوۡمَئِذٍ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقَرُّ
Ila rabbika yawmaithin almustaqarruTo your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence
- 13Verse 13
يُنَبَّؤُاْ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ يَوۡمَئِذِۭ بِمَا قَدَّمَ وَأَخَّرَ
Yunabbao alinsanu yawmaithin bima qaddama waakhkharaMan will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back
- 14Verse 14
بَلِ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ عَلَىٰ نَفۡسِهِۦ بَصِيرَةٞ
Bali alinsanu AAala nafsihi baseeratunRather, man, against himself, will be a witness
- 15Verse 15
وَلَوۡ أَلۡقَىٰ مَعَاذِيرَهُۥ
Walaw alqa maAAatheerahuEven if he presents his excuses
- 16Verse 16
لَا تُحَرِّكۡ بِهِۦ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعۡجَلَ بِهِۦٓ
La tuharrik bihi lisanaka litaAAjala bihiMove not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an
- 17Verse 17
إِنَّ عَلَيۡنَا جَمۡعَهُۥ وَقُرۡءَانَهُۥ
Inna AAalayna jamAAahu waquranahuIndeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation
- 18Verse 18
فَإِذَا قَرَأۡنَٰهُ فَٱتَّبِعۡ قُرۡءَانَهُۥ
Faitha qaranahu faittabiAA quranahuSo when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation
- 19Verse 19
ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيۡنَا بَيَانَهُۥ
Thumma inna AAalayna bayanahuThen upon Us is its clarification [to you]
- 20Verse 20
كَلَّا بَلۡ تُحِبُّونَ ٱلۡعَاجِلَةَ
Kalla bal tuhibboona alAAajilataNo! But you love the immediate
- 21Verse 21
وَتَذَرُونَ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةَ
Watatharoona alakhirataAnd leave the Hereafter
- 22Verse 22
وُجُوهٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ نَّاضِرَةٌ
Wujoohun yawmaithin nadiratun[Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant
- 23Verse 23
إِلَىٰ رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٞ
Ila rabbiha nathiratunLooking at their Lord
- 24Verse 24
وَوُجُوهٞ يَوۡمَئِذِۭ بَاسِرَةٞ
Wawujoohun yawmaithin basiratunAnd [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted
- 25Verse 25
تَظُنُّ أَن يُفۡعَلَ بِهَا فَاقِرَةٞ
Tathunnu an yufAAala biha faqiratunExpecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking
- 26Verse 26
كَلَّآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلتَّرَاقِيَ
Kalla itha balaghati alttaraqiyaNo! When the soul has reached the collar bones
- 27Verse 27
وَقِيلَ مَنۡۜ رَاقٖ
Waqeela man raqinAnd it is said, "Who will cure [him]
- 28Verse 28
وَظَنَّ أَنَّهُ ٱلۡفِرَاقُ
Wathanna annahu alfiraquAnd the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation
- 29Verse 29
وَٱلۡتَفَّتِ ٱلسَّاقُ بِٱلسَّاقِ
Wailtaffati alssaqu bialssaqiAnd the leg is wound about the leg
- 30Verse 30
إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوۡمَئِذٍ ٱلۡمَسَاقُ
Ila rabbika yawmaithin almasaquTo your Lord, that Day, will be the procession
- 31Verse 31
فَلَا صَدَّقَ وَلَا صَلَّىٰ
Fala saddaqa wala sallaAnd the disbeliever had not believed, nor had he prayed
- 32Verse 32
وَلَٰكِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ
Walakin kaththaba watawallaBut [instead], he denied and turned away
- 33Verse 33
ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهۡلِهِۦ يَتَمَطَّىٰٓ
Thumma thahaba ila ahlihi yatamattaAnd then he went to his people, swaggering [in pride]
- 34Verse 34
أَوۡلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوۡلَىٰ
Awla laka faawlaWoe to you, and woe
- 35Verse 35
ثُمَّ أَوۡلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوۡلَىٰٓ
Thumma awla laka faawlaThen woe to you, and woe
- 36Verse 36
أَيَحۡسَبُ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ أَن يُتۡرَكَ سُدًى
Ayahsabu alinsanu an yutraka sudanDoes man think that he will be left neglected
- 37Verse 37
أَلَمۡ يَكُ نُطۡفَةٗ مِّن مَّنِيّٖ يُمۡنَىٰ
Alam yaku nutfatan min manayyin yumnaHad he not been a sperm from semen emitted
- 38Verse 38
ثُمَّ كَانَ عَلَقَةٗ فَخَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ
Thumma kana AAalaqatan fakhalaqa fasawwaThen he was a clinging clot, and [Allah] created [his form] and proportioned [him]
- 39Verse 39
فَجَعَلَ مِنۡهُ ٱلزَّوۡجَيۡنِ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلۡأُنثَىٰٓ
FajaAAala minhu alzzawjayni alththakara waalonthaAnd made of him two mates, the male and the female
- 40Verse 40
أَلَيۡسَ ذَٰلِكَ بِقَٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يُحۡـِۧيَ ٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰ
Alaysa thalika biqadirin AAala an yuhyiya almawtaIs not that [Creator] Able to give life to the dead
