عَمَّ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ
AAamma yatasaaloonaAbout what are they asking one another
- 2Verse 2
عَنِ ٱلنَّبَإِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ
AAani alnnabai alAAatheemiAbout the great news
- 3Verse 3
ٱلَّذِي هُمۡ فِيهِ مُخۡتَلِفُونَ
Allathee hum feehi mukhtalifoonaThat over which they are in disagreement
- 4Verse 4
كَلَّا سَيَعۡلَمُونَ
Kalla sayaAAlamoonaNo! They are going to know
- 5Verse 5
ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَيَعۡلَمُونَ
Thumma kalla sayaAAlamoonaThen, no! They are going to know
- 6Verse 6
أَلَمۡ نَجۡعَلِ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ مِهَٰدٗا
Alam najAAali alarda mihadanHave We not made the earth a resting place
- 7Verse 7
وَٱلۡجِبَالَ أَوۡتَادٗا
Waaljibala awtadanAnd the mountains as stakes
- 8Verse 8
وَخَلَقۡنَٰكُمۡ أَزۡوَٰجٗا
Wakhalaqnakum azwajanAnd We created you in pairs
- 9Verse 9
وَجَعَلۡنَا نَوۡمَكُمۡ سُبَاتٗا
WajaAAalna nawmakum subatanAnd made your sleep [a means for] rest
- 10Verse 10
وَجَعَلۡنَا ٱلَّيۡلَ لِبَاسٗا
WajaAAalna allayla libasanAnd made the night as clothing
- 11Verse 11
وَجَعَلۡنَا ٱلنَّهَارَ مَعَاشٗا
WajaAAalna alnnahara maAAashanAnd made the day for livelihood
- 12Verse 12
وَبَنَيۡنَا فَوۡقَكُمۡ سَبۡعٗا شِدَادٗا
Wabanayna fawqakum sabAAan shidadanAnd constructed above you seven strong [heavens]
- 13Verse 13
وَجَعَلۡنَا سِرَاجٗا وَهَّاجٗا
WajaAAalna sirajan wahhajanAnd made [therein] a burning lamp
- 14Verse 14
وَأَنزَلۡنَا مِنَ ٱلۡمُعۡصِرَٰتِ مَآءٗ ثَجَّاجٗا
Waanzalna mina almuAAsirati maan thajjajanAnd sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water
- 15Verse 15
لِّنُخۡرِجَ بِهِۦ حَبّٗا وَنَبَاتٗا
Linukhrija bihi habban wanabatanThat We may bring forth thereby grain and vegetation
- 16Verse 16
وَجَنَّـٰتٍ أَلۡفَافًا
Wajannatin alfafanAnd gardens of entwined growth
- 17Verse 17
إِنَّ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡفَصۡلِ كَانَ مِيقَٰتٗا
Inna yawma alfasli kana meeqatanIndeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time
- 18Verse 18
يَوۡمَ يُنفَخُ فِي ٱلصُّورِ فَتَأۡتُونَ أَفۡوَاجٗا
Yawma yunfakhu fee alssoori fatatoona afwajanThe Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes
- 19Verse 19
وَفُتِحَتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَكَانَتۡ أَبۡوَٰبٗا
Wafutihati alssamao fakanat abwabanAnd the heaven is opened and will become gateways
- 20Verse 20
وَسُيِّرَتِ ٱلۡجِبَالُ فَكَانَتۡ سَرَابًا
Wasuyyirati aljibalu fakanat sarabanAnd the mountains are removed and will be [but] a mirage
- 21Verse 21
إِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ كَانَتۡ مِرۡصَادٗا
Inna jahannama kanat mirsadanIndeed, Hell has been lying in wait
- 22Verse 22
لِّلطَّـٰغِينَ مَـَٔابٗا
Lilttagheena maabanFor the transgressors, a place of return
- 23Verse 23
لَّـٰبِثِينَ فِيهَآ أَحۡقَابٗا
Labitheena feeha ahqabanIn which they will remain for ages [unending]
- 24Verse 24
لَّا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا بَرۡدٗا وَلَا شَرَابًا
La yathooqoona feeha bardan wala sharabanThey will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink
- 25Verse 25
إِلَّا حَمِيمٗا وَغَسَّاقٗا
Illa hameeman waghassaqanExcept scalding water and [foul] purulence
- 26Verse 26
جَزَآءٗ وِفَاقًا
Jazaan wifaqanAn appropriate recompense
- 27Verse 27
إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ لَا يَرۡجُونَ حِسَابٗا
Innahum kanoo la yarjoona hisabanIndeed, they were not expecting an account
- 28Verse 28
وَكَذَّبُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا كِذَّابٗا
Wakaththaboo biayatina kiththabanAnd denied Our verses with [emphatic] denial
- 29Verse 29
وَكُلَّ شَيۡءٍ أَحۡصَيۡنَٰهُ كِتَٰبٗا
Wakulla shayin ahsaynahu kitabanBut all things We have enumerated in writing
- 30Verse 30
فَذُوقُواْ فَلَن نَّزِيدَكُمۡ إِلَّا عَذَابًا
Fathooqoo falan nazeedakum illa AAathabanSo taste [the penalty], and never will We increase you except in torment
- 31Verse 31
إِنَّ لِلۡمُتَّقِينَ مَفَازًا
Inna lilmuttaqeena mafazanIndeed, for the righteous is attainment
- 32Verse 32
حَدَآئِقَ وَأَعۡنَٰبٗا
Hadaiqa waaAAnabanGardens and grapevines
- 33Verse 33
وَكَوَاعِبَ أَتۡرَابٗا
WakawaAAiba atrabanAnd full-breasted [companions] of equal age
- 34Verse 34
وَكَأۡسٗا دِهَاقٗا
Wakasan dihaqanAnd a full cup
- 35Verse 35
لَّا يَسۡمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغۡوٗا وَلَا كِذَّـٰبٗا
La yasmaAAoona feeha laghwan wala kiththabanNo ill speech will they hear therein or any falsehood
- 36Verse 36
جَزَآءٗ مِّن رَّبِّكَ عَطَآءً حِسَابٗا
Jazaan min rabbika AAataan hisaban[As] reward from your Lord, [a generous] gift [made due by] account
- 37Verse 37
رَّبِّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَا ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِۖ لَا يَمۡلِكُونَ مِنۡهُ خِطَابٗا
Rabbi alssamawati waalardi wama baynahuma alrrahmani la yamlikoona minhu khitaban[From] the Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, the Most Merciful. They possess not from Him [authority for] speech
- 38Verse 38
يَوۡمَ يَقُومُ ٱلرُّوحُ وَٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ صَفّٗاۖ لَّا يَتَكَلَّمُونَ إِلَّا مَنۡ أَذِنَ لَهُ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ وَقَالَ صَوَابٗا
Yawma yaqoomu alrroohu waalmalaikatu saffan la yatakallamoona illa man athina lahu alrrahmanu waqala sawabanThe Day that the Spirit and the angels will stand in rows, they will not speak except for one whom the Most Merciful permits, and he will say what is correct
- 39Verse 39
ذَٰلِكَ ٱلۡيَوۡمُ ٱلۡحَقُّۖ فَمَن شَآءَ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ مَـَٔابًا
Thalika alyawmu alhaqqu faman shaa ittakhatha ila rabbihi maabanThat is the True Day; so he who wills may take to his Lord a [way of] return
- 40Verse 40
إِنَّآ أَنذَرۡنَٰكُمۡ عَذَابٗا قَرِيبٗا يَوۡمَ يَنظُرُ ٱلۡمَرۡءُ مَا قَدَّمَتۡ يَدَاهُ وَيَقُولُ ٱلۡكَافِرُ يَٰلَيۡتَنِي كُنتُ تُرَٰبَۢا
Inna antharnakum AAathaban qareeban yawma yanthuru almaro ma qaddamat yadahu wayaqoolu alkafiru ya laytanee kuntu turabanIndeed, We have warned you of a near punishment on the Day when a man will observe what his hands have put forth and the disbeliever will say, "Oh, I wish that I were dust
