    عَمَّ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ

    AAamma yatasaaloona

    About what are they asking one another

  2. 2Verse 2

    عَنِ ٱلنَّبَإِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ

    AAani alnnabai alAAatheemi

    About the great news

  3. 3Verse 3

    ٱلَّذِي هُمۡ فِيهِ مُخۡتَلِفُونَ

    Allathee hum feehi mukhtalifoona

    That over which they are in disagreement

  4. 4Verse 4

    كَلَّا سَيَعۡلَمُونَ

    Kalla sayaAAlamoona

    No! They are going to know

  5. 5Verse 5

    ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَيَعۡلَمُونَ

    Thumma kalla sayaAAlamoona

    Then, no! They are going to know

  6. 6Verse 6

    أَلَمۡ نَجۡعَلِ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ مِهَٰدٗا

    Alam najAAali alarda mihadan

    Have We not made the earth a resting place

  7. 7Verse 7

    وَٱلۡجِبَالَ أَوۡتَادٗا

    Waaljibala awtadan

    And the mountains as stakes

  8. 8Verse 8

    وَخَلَقۡنَٰكُمۡ أَزۡوَٰجٗا

    Wakhalaqnakum azwajan

    And We created you in pairs

  9. 9Verse 9

    وَجَعَلۡنَا نَوۡمَكُمۡ سُبَاتٗا

    WajaAAalna nawmakum subatan

    And made your sleep [a means for] rest

  10. 10Verse 10

    وَجَعَلۡنَا ٱلَّيۡلَ لِبَاسٗا

    WajaAAalna allayla libasan

    And made the night as clothing

  11. 11Verse 11

    وَجَعَلۡنَا ٱلنَّهَارَ مَعَاشٗا

    WajaAAalna alnnahara maAAashan

    And made the day for livelihood

  12. 12Verse 12

    وَبَنَيۡنَا فَوۡقَكُمۡ سَبۡعٗا شِدَادٗا

    Wabanayna fawqakum sabAAan shidadan

    And constructed above you seven strong [heavens]

  13. 13Verse 13

    وَجَعَلۡنَا سِرَاجٗا وَهَّاجٗا

    WajaAAalna sirajan wahhajan

    And made [therein] a burning lamp

  14. 14Verse 14

    وَأَنزَلۡنَا مِنَ ٱلۡمُعۡصِرَٰتِ مَآءٗ ثَجَّاجٗا

    Waanzalna mina almuAAsirati maan thajjajan

    And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water

  15. 15Verse 15

    لِّنُخۡرِجَ بِهِۦ حَبّٗا وَنَبَاتٗا

    Linukhrija bihi habban wanabatan

    That We may bring forth thereby grain and vegetation

  16. 16Verse 16

    وَجَنَّـٰتٍ أَلۡفَافًا

    Wajannatin alfafan

    And gardens of entwined growth

  17. 17Verse 17

    إِنَّ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡفَصۡلِ كَانَ مِيقَٰتٗا

    Inna yawma alfasli kana meeqatan

    Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time

  18. 18Verse 18

    يَوۡمَ يُنفَخُ فِي ٱلصُّورِ فَتَأۡتُونَ أَفۡوَاجٗا

    Yawma yunfakhu fee alssoori fatatoona afwajan

    The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes

  19. 19Verse 19

    وَفُتِحَتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَكَانَتۡ أَبۡوَٰبٗا

    Wafutihati alssamao fakanat abwaban

    And the heaven is opened and will become gateways

  20. 20Verse 20

    وَسُيِّرَتِ ٱلۡجِبَالُ فَكَانَتۡ سَرَابًا

    Wasuyyirati aljibalu fakanat saraban

    And the mountains are removed and will be [but] a mirage

  21. 21Verse 21

    إِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ كَانَتۡ مِرۡصَادٗا

    Inna jahannama kanat mirsadan

    Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait

  22. 22Verse 22

    لِّلطَّـٰغِينَ مَـَٔابٗا

    Lilttagheena maaban

    For the transgressors, a place of return

  23. 23Verse 23

    لَّـٰبِثِينَ فِيهَآ أَحۡقَابٗا

    Labitheena feeha ahqaban

    In which they will remain for ages [unending]

  24. 24Verse 24

    لَّا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا بَرۡدٗا وَلَا شَرَابًا

    La yathooqoona feeha bardan wala sharaban

    They will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink

  25. 25Verse 25

    إِلَّا حَمِيمٗا وَغَسَّاقٗا

    Illa hameeman waghassaqan

    Except scalding water and [foul] purulence

  26. 26Verse 26

    جَزَآءٗ وِفَاقًا

    Jazaan wifaqan

    An appropriate recompense

  27. 27Verse 27

    إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ لَا يَرۡجُونَ حِسَابٗا

    Innahum kanoo la yarjoona hisaban

    Indeed, they were not expecting an account

  28. 28Verse 28

    وَكَذَّبُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا كِذَّابٗا

    Wakaththaboo biayatina kiththaban

    And denied Our verses with [emphatic] denial

  29. 29Verse 29

    وَكُلَّ شَيۡءٍ أَحۡصَيۡنَٰهُ كِتَٰبٗا

    Wakulla shayin ahsaynahu kitaban

    But all things We have enumerated in writing

  30. 30Verse 30

    فَذُوقُواْ فَلَن نَّزِيدَكُمۡ إِلَّا عَذَابًا

    Fathooqoo falan nazeedakum illa AAathaban

    So taste [the penalty], and never will We increase you except in torment

  31. 31Verse 31

    إِنَّ لِلۡمُتَّقِينَ مَفَازًا

    Inna lilmuttaqeena mafazan

    Indeed, for the righteous is attainment

  32. 32Verse 32

    حَدَآئِقَ وَأَعۡنَٰبٗا

    Hadaiqa waaAAnaban

    Gardens and grapevines

  33. 33Verse 33

    وَكَوَاعِبَ أَتۡرَابٗا

    WakawaAAiba atraban

    And full-breasted [companions] of equal age

  34. 34Verse 34

    وَكَأۡسٗا دِهَاقٗا

    Wakasan dihaqan

    And a full cup

  35. 35Verse 35

    لَّا يَسۡمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغۡوٗا وَلَا كِذَّـٰبٗا

    La yasmaAAoona feeha laghwan wala kiththaban

    No ill speech will they hear therein or any falsehood

  36. 36Verse 36

    جَزَآءٗ مِّن رَّبِّكَ عَطَآءً حِسَابٗا

    Jazaan min rabbika AAataan hisaban

    [As] reward from your Lord, [a generous] gift [made due by] account

  37. 37Verse 37

    رَّبِّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَا ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِۖ لَا يَمۡلِكُونَ مِنۡهُ خِطَابٗا

    Rabbi alssamawati waalardi wama baynahuma alrrahmani la yamlikoona minhu khitaban

    [From] the Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, the Most Merciful. They possess not from Him [authority for] speech

  38. 38Verse 38

    يَوۡمَ يَقُومُ ٱلرُّوحُ وَٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ صَفّٗاۖ لَّا يَتَكَلَّمُونَ إِلَّا مَنۡ أَذِنَ لَهُ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ وَقَالَ صَوَابٗا

    Yawma yaqoomu alrroohu waalmalaikatu saffan la yatakallamoona illa man athina lahu alrrahmanu waqala sawaban

    The Day that the Spirit and the angels will stand in rows, they will not speak except for one whom the Most Merciful permits, and he will say what is correct

  39. 39Verse 39

    ذَٰلِكَ ٱلۡيَوۡمُ ٱلۡحَقُّۖ فَمَن شَآءَ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ مَـَٔابًا

    Thalika alyawmu alhaqqu faman shaa ittakhatha ila rabbihi maaban

    That is the True Day; so he who wills may take to his Lord a [way of] return

  40. 40Verse 40

    إِنَّآ أَنذَرۡنَٰكُمۡ عَذَابٗا قَرِيبٗا يَوۡمَ يَنظُرُ ٱلۡمَرۡءُ مَا قَدَّمَتۡ يَدَاهُ وَيَقُولُ ٱلۡكَافِرُ يَٰلَيۡتَنِي كُنتُ تُرَٰبَۢا

    Inna antharnakum AAathaban qareeban yawma yanthuru almaro ma qaddamat yadahu wayaqoolu alkafiru ya laytanee kuntu turaban

    Indeed, We have warned you of a near punishment on the Day when a man will observe what his hands have put forth and the disbeliever will say, "Oh, I wish that I were dust
