إِذَا وَقَعَتِ ٱلۡوَاقِعَةُ
Itha waqaAAati alwaqiAAatuWhen the Occurrence occurs
- 2Verse 2
لَيۡسَ لِوَقۡعَتِهَا كَاذِبَةٌ
Laysa liwaqAAatiha kathibatunThere is, at its occurrence, no denial
- 3Verse 3
خَافِضَةٞ رَّافِعَةٌ
Khafidatun rafiAAatunIt will bring down [some] and raise up [others]
- 4Verse 4
إِذَا رُجَّتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ رَجّٗا
Itha rujjati alardu rajjanWhen the earth is shaken with convulsion
- 5Verse 5
وَبُسَّتِ ٱلۡجِبَالُ بَسّٗا
Wabussati aljibalu bassanAnd the mountains are broken down, crumbling
- 6Verse 6
فَكَانَتۡ هَبَآءٗ مُّنۢبَثّٗا
Fakanat habaan munbaththanAnd become dust dispersing
- 7Verse 7
وَكُنتُمۡ أَزۡوَٰجٗا ثَلَٰثَةٗ
Wakuntum azwajan thalathatanAnd you become [of] three kinds
- 8Verse 8
فَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَيۡمَنَةِ مَآ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَيۡمَنَةِ
Faashabu almaymanati ma ashabu almaymanatiThen the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right
- 9Verse 9
وَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَشۡـَٔمَةِ مَآ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَشۡـَٔمَةِ
Waashabu almashamati ma ashabu almashamatiAnd the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left
- 10Verse 10
وَٱلسَّـٰبِقُونَ ٱلسَّـٰبِقُونَ
Waalssabiqoona alssabiqoonaAnd the forerunners, the forerunners
- 11Verse 11
أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلۡمُقَرَّبُونَ
Olaika almuqarraboonaThose are the ones brought near [to Allah]
- 12Verse 12
فِي جَنَّـٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ
Fee jannati alnnaAAeemiIn the Gardens of Pleasure
- 13Verse 13
ثُلَّةٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
Thullatun mina alawwaleenaA [large] company of the former peoples
- 14Verse 14
وَقَلِيلٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ
Waqaleelun mina alakhireenaAnd a few of the later peoples
- 15Verse 15
عَلَىٰ سُرُرٖ مَّوۡضُونَةٖ
AAala sururin mawdoonatinOn thrones woven [with ornament]
- 16Verse 16
مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَيۡهَا مُتَقَٰبِلِينَ
Muttakieena AAalayha mutaqabileenaReclining on them, facing each other
- 17Verse 17
يَطُوفُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وِلۡدَٰنٞ مُّخَلَّدُونَ
Yatoofu AAalayhim wildanun mukhalladoonaThere will circulate among them young boys made eternal
- 18Verse 18
بِأَكۡوَابٖ وَأَبَارِيقَ وَكَأۡسٖ مِّن مَّعِينٖ
Biakwabin waabareeqa wakasin min maAAeeninWith vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring
- 19Verse 19
لَّا يُصَدَّعُونَ عَنۡهَا وَلَا يُنزِفُونَ
La yusaddaAAoona AAanha wala yunzifoonaNo headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated
- 20Verse 20
وَفَٰكِهَةٖ مِّمَّا يَتَخَيَّرُونَ
Wafakihatin mimma yatakhayyaroonaAnd fruit of what they select
- 21Verse 21
وَلَحۡمِ طَيۡرٖ مِّمَّا يَشۡتَهُونَ
Walahmi tayrin mimma yashtahoonaAnd the meat of fowl, from whatever they desire
- 22Verse 22
وَحُورٌ عِينٞ
Wahoorun AAeenunAnd [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes
- 23Verse 23
كَأَمۡثَٰلِ ٱللُّؤۡلُوِٕ ٱلۡمَكۡنُونِ
Kaamthali allului almaknooniThe likenesses of pearls well-protected
- 24Verse 24
جَزَآءَۢ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ
Jazaan bima kanoo yaAAmaloonaAs reward for what they used to do
- 25Verse 25
لَا يَسۡمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغۡوٗا وَلَا تَأۡثِيمًا
La yasmaAAoona feeha laghwan wala tatheemanThey will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin
- 26Verse 26
إِلَّا قِيلٗا سَلَٰمٗا سَلَٰمٗا
Illa qeelan salaman salamanOnly a saying: "Peace, peace
- 27Verse 27
وَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡيَمِينِ مَآ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡيَمِينِ
Waashabu alyameeni ma ashabu alyameeniThe companions of the right - what are the companions of the right
- 28Verse 28
فِي سِدۡرٖ مَّخۡضُودٖ
Fee sidrin makhdoodin[They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed
- 29Verse 29
وَطَلۡحٖ مَّنضُودٖ
Watalhin mandoodinAnd [banana] trees layered [with fruit]
- 30Verse 30
وَظِلّٖ مَّمۡدُودٖ
Wathillin mamdoodinAnd shade extended
- 31Verse 31
وَمَآءٖ مَّسۡكُوبٖ
Wamain maskoobinAnd water poured out
- 32Verse 32
وَفَٰكِهَةٖ كَثِيرَةٖ
Wafakihatin katheeratinAnd fruit, abundant [and varied]
- 33Verse 33
لَّا مَقۡطُوعَةٖ وَلَا مَمۡنُوعَةٖ
La maqtooAAatin wala mamnooAAatinNeither limited [to season] nor forbidden
- 34Verse 34
وَفُرُشٖ مَّرۡفُوعَةٍ
Wafurushin marfooAAatinAnd [upon] beds raised high
- 35Verse 35
إِنَّآ أَنشَأۡنَٰهُنَّ إِنشَآءٗ
Inna anshanahunna inshaanIndeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation
- 36Verse 36
فَجَعَلۡنَٰهُنَّ أَبۡكَارًا
FajaAAalnahunna abkaranAnd made them virgins
- 37Verse 37
عُرُبًا أَتۡرَابٗا
AAuruban atrabanDevoted [to their husbands] and of equal age
- 38Verse 38
لِّأَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلۡيَمِينِ
Liashabi alyameeniFor the companions of the right [who are]
- 39Verse 39
ثُلَّةٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
Thullatun mina alawwaleenaA company of the former peoples
- 40Verse 40
وَثُلَّةٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ
Wathullatun mina alakhireenaAnd a company of the later peoples
- 41Verse 41
وَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ مَآ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ
Waashabu alshshimali ma ashabu alshshimaliAnd the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left
- 42Verse 42
فِي سَمُومٖ وَحَمِيمٖ
Fee samoomin wahameemin[They will be] in scorching fire and scalding water
- 43Verse 43
وَظِلّٖ مِّن يَحۡمُومٖ
Wathillin min yahmoominAnd a shade of black smoke
- 44Verse 44
لَّا بَارِدٖ وَلَا كَرِيمٍ
La baridin wala kareeminNeither cool nor beneficial
- 45Verse 45
إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ قَبۡلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُتۡرَفِينَ
Innahum kanoo qabla thalika mutrafeenaIndeed they were, before that, indulging in affluence
- 46Verse 46
وَكَانُواْ يُصِرُّونَ عَلَى ٱلۡحِنثِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ
Wakanoo yusirroona AAala alhinthi alAAatheemiAnd they used to persist in the great violation
- 47Verse 47
وَكَانُواْ يَقُولُونَ أَئِذَا مِتۡنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابٗا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبۡعُوثُونَ
Wakanoo yaqooloona aitha mitna wakunna turaban waAAithaman ainna lamabAAoothoonaAnd they used to say, "When we die and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected
- 48Verse 48
أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا ٱلۡأَوَّلُونَ
Awa abaona alawwaloonaAnd our forefathers [as well]
- 49Verse 49
قُلۡ إِنَّ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ وَٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ
Qul inna alawwaleena waalakhireenaSay, [O Muhammad], "Indeed, the former and the later peoples
- 50Verse 50
لَمَجۡمُوعُونَ إِلَىٰ مِيقَٰتِ يَوۡمٖ مَّعۡلُومٖ
LamajmooAAoona ila meeqati yawmin maAAloominAre to be gathered together for the appointment of a known Day
- 51Verse 51
ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمۡ أَيُّهَا ٱلضَّآلُّونَ ٱلۡمُكَذِّبُونَ
Thumma innakum ayyuha alddalloona almukaththiboonaThen indeed you, O those astray [who are] deniers
- 52Verse 52
لَأٓكِلُونَ مِن شَجَرٖ مِّن زَقُّومٖ
Laakiloona min shajarin min zaqqoominWill be eating from trees of zaqqum
- 53Verse 53
فَمَالِـُٔونَ مِنۡهَا ٱلۡبُطُونَ
Famalioona minha albutoonaAnd filling with it your bellies
- 54Verse 54
فَشَٰرِبُونَ عَلَيۡهِ مِنَ ٱلۡحَمِيمِ
Fashariboona AAalayhi mina alhameemiAnd drinking on top of it from scalding water
- 55Verse 55
فَشَٰرِبُونَ شُرۡبَ ٱلۡهِيمِ
Fashariboona shurba alheemiAnd will drink as the drinking of thirsty camels
- 56Verse 56
هَٰذَا نُزُلُهُمۡ يَوۡمَ ٱلدِّينِ
Hatha nuzuluhum yawma alddeeniThat is their accommodation on the Day of Recompense
- 57Verse 57
نَحۡنُ خَلَقۡنَٰكُمۡ فَلَوۡلَا تُصَدِّقُونَ
Nahnu khalaqnakum falawla tusaddiqoonaWe have created you, so why do you not believe
- 58Verse 58
أَفَرَءَيۡتُم مَّا تُمۡنُونَ
Afaraaytum ma tumnoonaHave you seen that which you emit
- 59Verse 59
ءَأَنتُمۡ تَخۡلُقُونَهُۥٓ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱلۡخَٰلِقُونَ
Aantum takhluqoonahu am nahnu alkhaliqoonaIs it you who creates it, or are We the Creator
- 60Verse 60
نَحۡنُ قَدَّرۡنَا بَيۡنَكُمُ ٱلۡمَوۡتَ وَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمَسۡبُوقِينَ
Nahnu qaddarna baynakumu almawta wama nahnu bimasbooqeenaWe have decreed death among you, and We are not to be outdone
- 61Verse 61
عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّبَدِّلَ أَمۡثَٰلَكُمۡ وَنُنشِئَكُمۡ فِي مَا لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ
AAala an nubaddila amthalakum wanunshiakum fee ma la taAAlamoonaIn that We will change your likenesses and produce you in that [form] which you do not know
- 62Verse 62
وَلَقَدۡ عَلِمۡتُمُ ٱلنَّشۡأَةَ ٱلۡأُولَىٰ فَلَوۡلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
Walaqad AAalimtumu alnnashata aloola falawla tathakkaroonaAnd you have already known the first creation, so will you not remember
- 63Verse 63
أَفَرَءَيۡتُم مَّا تَحۡرُثُونَ
Afaraaytum ma tahruthoonaAnd have you seen that [seed] which you sow
- 64Verse 64
ءَأَنتُمۡ تَزۡرَعُونَهُۥٓ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱلزَّـٰرِعُونَ
Aantum tazraAAoonahu am nahnu alzzariAAoonaIs it you who makes it grow, or are We the grower
- 65Verse 65
لَوۡ نَشَآءُ لَجَعَلۡنَٰهُ حُطَٰمٗا فَظَلۡتُمۡ تَفَكَّهُونَ
Law nashao lajaAAalnahu hutaman fathaltum tafakkahoonaIf We willed, We could make it [dry] debris, and you would remain in wonder
- 66Verse 66
إِنَّا لَمُغۡرَمُونَ
Inna lamughramoona[Saying], "Indeed, we are [now] in debt
- 67Verse 67
بَلۡ نَحۡنُ مَحۡرُومُونَ
Bal nahnu mahroomoonaRather, we have been deprived
- 68Verse 68
أَفَرَءَيۡتُمُ ٱلۡمَآءَ ٱلَّذِي تَشۡرَبُونَ
Afaraaytumu almaa allathee tashraboonaAnd have you seen the water that you drink
- 69Verse 69
ءَأَنتُمۡ أَنزَلۡتُمُوهُ مِنَ ٱلۡمُزۡنِ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱلۡمُنزِلُونَ
Aantum anzaltumoohu mina almuzni am nahnu almunziloonaIs it you who brought it down from the clouds, or is it We who bring it down
- 70Verse 70
لَوۡ نَشَآءُ جَعَلۡنَٰهُ أُجَاجٗا فَلَوۡلَا تَشۡكُرُونَ
Law nashao jaAAalnahu ojajan falawla tashkuroonaIf We willed, We could make it bitter, so why are you not grateful
- 71Verse 71
أَفَرَءَيۡتُمُ ٱلنَّارَ ٱلَّتِي تُورُونَ
Afaraaytumu alnnara allatee tooroonaAnd have you seen the fire that you ignite
- 72Verse 72
ءَأَنتُمۡ أَنشَأۡتُمۡ شَجَرَتَهَآ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱلۡمُنشِـُٔونَ
Aantum anshatum shajarataha am nahnu almunshioonaIs it you who produced its tree, or are We the producer
- 73Verse 73
نَحۡنُ جَعَلۡنَٰهَا تَذۡكِرَةٗ وَمَتَٰعٗا لِّلۡمُقۡوِينَ
Nahnu jaAAalnaha tathkiratan wamataAAan lilmuqweenaWe have made it a reminder and provision for the travelers
- 74Verse 74
فَسَبِّحۡ بِٱسۡمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ
Fasabbih biismi rabbika alAAatheemiSo exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great
- 75Verse 75
۞فَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِمَوَٰقِعِ ٱلنُّجُومِ
Fala oqsimu bimawaqiAAi alnnujoomiThen I swear by the setting of the stars
- 76Verse 76
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَقَسَمٞ لَّوۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ عَظِيمٌ
Wainnahu laqasamun law taAAlamoona AAatheemunAnd indeed, it is an oath - if you could know - [most] great
- 77Verse 77
إِنَّهُۥ لَقُرۡءَانٞ كَرِيمٞ
Innahu laquranun kareemunIndeed, it is a noble Qur'an
- 78Verse 78
فِي كِتَٰبٖ مَّكۡنُونٖ
Fee kitabin maknooninIn a Register well-protected
- 79Verse 79
لَّا يَمَسُّهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلۡمُطَهَّرُونَ
La yamassuhu illa almutahharoonaNone touch it except the purified
- 80Verse 80
تَنزِيلٞ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
Tanzeelun min rabbi alAAalameena[It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds
- 81Verse 81
أَفَبِهَٰذَا ٱلۡحَدِيثِ أَنتُم مُّدۡهِنُونَ
Afabihatha alhadeethi antum mudhinoonaThen is it to this statement that you are indifferent
- 82Verse 82
وَتَجۡعَلُونَ رِزۡقَكُمۡ أَنَّكُمۡ تُكَذِّبُونَ
WatajAAaloona rizqakum annakum tukaththiboonaAnd make [the thanks for] your provision that you deny [the Provider]
- 83Verse 83
فَلَوۡلَآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلۡحُلۡقُومَ
Falawla itha balaghati alhulqoomaThen why, when the soul at death reaches the throat
- 84Verse 84
وَأَنتُمۡ حِينَئِذٖ تَنظُرُونَ
Waantum heenaithin tanthuroonaAnd you are at that time looking on
- 85Verse 85
وَنَحۡنُ أَقۡرَبُ إِلَيۡهِ مِنكُمۡ وَلَٰكِن لَّا تُبۡصِرُونَ
Wanahnu aqrabu ilayhi minkum walakin la tubsiroonaAnd Our angels are nearer to him than you, but you do not see
- 86Verse 86
فَلَوۡلَآ إِن كُنتُمۡ غَيۡرَ مَدِينِينَ
Falawla in kuntum ghayra madeeneenaThen why do you not, if you are not to be recompensed
- 87Verse 87
تَرۡجِعُونَهَآ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ
TarjiAAoonaha in kuntum sadiqeenaBring it back, if you should be truthful
- 88Verse 88
فَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُقَرَّبِينَ
Faamma in kana mina almuqarrabeenaAnd if the deceased was of those brought near to Allah
- 89Verse 89
فَرَوۡحٞ وَرَيۡحَانٞ وَجَنَّتُ نَعِيمٖ
Farawhun warayhanun wajannatu naAAeeminThen [for him is] rest and bounty and a garden of pleasure
- 90Verse 90
وَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنۡ أَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلۡيَمِينِ
Waamma in kana min ashabi alyameeniAnd if he was of the companions of the right
- 91Verse 91
فَسَلَٰمٞ لَّكَ مِنۡ أَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلۡيَمِينِ
Fasalamun laka min ashabi alyameeniThen [the angels will say], "Peace for you; [you are] from the companions of the right
- 92Verse 92
وَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
Waamma in kana mina almukaththibeena alddalleenaBut if he was of the deniers [who were] astray
- 93Verse 93
فَنُزُلٞ مِّنۡ حَمِيمٖ
Fanuzulun min hameeminThen [for him is] accommodation of scalding water
- 94Verse 94
وَتَصۡلِيَةُ جَحِيمٍ
Watasliyatu jaheeminAnd burning in Hellfire
- 95Verse 95
إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ حَقُّ ٱلۡيَقِينِ
Inna hatha lahuwa haqqu alyaqeeniIndeed, this is the true certainty
- 96Verse 96
فَسَبِّحۡ بِٱسۡمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ
Fasabbih biismi rabbika alAAatheemiSo exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great
