  1. 1Verse 1

    وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلۡبُرُوجِ

    Waalssamai thati alburooji

    By the sky containing great stars

  2. 2Verse 2

    وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ ٱلۡمَوۡعُودِ

    Waalyawmi almawAAoodi

    And [by] the promised Day

  3. 3Verse 3

    وَشَاهِدٖ وَمَشۡهُودٖ

    Washahidin wamashhoodin

    And [by] the witness and what is witnessed

  4. 4Verse 4

    قُتِلَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡأُخۡدُودِ

    Qutila ashabu alukhdoodi

    Cursed were the companions of the trench

  5. 5Verse 5

    ٱلنَّارِ ذَاتِ ٱلۡوَقُودِ

    Alnnari thati alwaqoodi

    [Containing] the fire full of fuel

  6. 6Verse 6

    إِذۡ هُمۡ عَلَيۡهَا قُعُودٞ

    Ith hum AAalayha quAAoodun

    When they were sitting near it

  7. 7Verse 7

    وَهُمۡ عَلَىٰ مَا يَفۡعَلُونَ بِٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ شُهُودٞ

    Wahum AAala ma yafAAaloona bialmumineena shuhoodun

    And they, to what they were doing against the believers, were witnesses

  8. 8Verse 8

    وَمَا نَقَمُواْ مِنۡهُمۡ إِلَّآ أَن يُؤۡمِنُواْ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلۡعَزِيزِ ٱلۡحَمِيدِ

    Wama naqamoo minhum illa an yuminoo biAllahi alAAazeezi alhameedi

    And they resented them not except because they believed in Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy

  9. 9Verse 9

    ٱلَّذِي لَهُۥ مُلۡكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ شَهِيدٌ

    Allathee lahu mulku alssamawati waalardi waAllahu AAala kulli shayin shaheedun

    To whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And Allah, over all things, is Witness

  10. 10Verse 10

    إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ فَتَنُواْ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنَٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمۡ يَتُوبُواْ فَلَهُمۡ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابُ ٱلۡحَرِيقِ

    Inna allatheena fatanoo almumineena waalmuminati thumma lam yatooboo falahum AAathabu jahannama walahum AAathabu alhareeqi

    Indeed, those who have tortured the believing men and believing women and then have not repented will have the punishment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the Burning Fire

  11. 11Verse 11

    إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُمۡ جَنَّـٰتٞ تَجۡرِي مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلۡفَوۡزُ ٱلۡكَبِيرُ

    Inna allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati lahum jannatun tajree min tahtiha alanharu thalika alfawzu alkabeeru

    Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds will have gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great attainment

  12. 12Verse 12

    إِنَّ بَطۡشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيدٌ

    Inna batsha rabbika lashadeedun

    Indeed, the vengeance of your Lord is severe

  13. 13Verse 13

    إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ يُبۡدِئُ وَيُعِيدُ

    Innahu huwa yubdio wayuAAeedu

    Indeed, it is He who originates [creation] and repeats

  14. 14Verse 14

    وَهُوَ ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلۡوَدُودُ

    Wahuwa alghafooru alwadoodu

    And He is the Forgiving, the Affectionate

  15. 15Verse 15

    ذُو ٱلۡعَرۡشِ ٱلۡمَجِيدُ

    Thoo alAAarshi almajeedi

    Honorable Owner of the Throne

  16. 16Verse 16

    فَعَّالٞ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ

    FaAAAAalun lima yureedu

    Effecter of what He intends

  17. 17Verse 17

    هَلۡ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلۡجُنُودِ

    Hal ataka hadeethu aljunoodi

    Has there reached you the story of the soldiers

  18. 18Verse 18

    فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَثَمُودَ

    FirAAawna wathamooda

    [Those of] Pharaoh and Thamud

  19. 19Verse 19

    بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ فِي تَكۡذِيبٖ

    Bali allatheena kafaroo fee taktheebin

    But they who disbelieve are in [persistent] denial

  20. 20Verse 20

    وَٱللَّهُ مِن وَرَآئِهِم مُّحِيطُۢ

    WaAllahu min waraihim muheetun

    While Allah encompasses them from behind

  21. 21Verse 21

    بَلۡ هُوَ قُرۡءَانٞ مَّجِيدٞ

    Bal huwa quranun majeedun

    But this is an honored Qur'an

  22. 22Verse 22

    فِي لَوۡحٖ مَّحۡفُوظِۭ

    Fee lawhin mahfoothin
