وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلۡبُرُوجِ
Waalssamai thati alburoojiBy the sky containing great stars
- 2Verse 2
وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ ٱلۡمَوۡعُودِ
Waalyawmi almawAAoodiAnd [by] the promised Day
- 3Verse 3
وَشَاهِدٖ وَمَشۡهُودٖ
Washahidin wamashhoodinAnd [by] the witness and what is witnessed
- 4Verse 4
قُتِلَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡأُخۡدُودِ
Qutila ashabu alukhdoodiCursed were the companions of the trench
- 5Verse 5
ٱلنَّارِ ذَاتِ ٱلۡوَقُودِ
Alnnari thati alwaqoodi[Containing] the fire full of fuel
- 6Verse 6
إِذۡ هُمۡ عَلَيۡهَا قُعُودٞ
Ith hum AAalayha quAAoodunWhen they were sitting near it
- 7Verse 7
وَهُمۡ عَلَىٰ مَا يَفۡعَلُونَ بِٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ شُهُودٞ
Wahum AAala ma yafAAaloona bialmumineena shuhoodunAnd they, to what they were doing against the believers, were witnesses
- 8Verse 8
وَمَا نَقَمُواْ مِنۡهُمۡ إِلَّآ أَن يُؤۡمِنُواْ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلۡعَزِيزِ ٱلۡحَمِيدِ
Wama naqamoo minhum illa an yuminoo biAllahi alAAazeezi alhameediAnd they resented them not except because they believed in Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy
- 9Verse 9
ٱلَّذِي لَهُۥ مُلۡكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ شَهِيدٌ
Allathee lahu mulku alssamawati waalardi waAllahu AAala kulli shayin shaheedunTo whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And Allah, over all things, is Witness
- 10Verse 10
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ فَتَنُواْ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنَٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمۡ يَتُوبُواْ فَلَهُمۡ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابُ ٱلۡحَرِيقِ
Inna allatheena fatanoo almumineena waalmuminati thumma lam yatooboo falahum AAathabu jahannama walahum AAathabu alhareeqiIndeed, those who have tortured the believing men and believing women and then have not repented will have the punishment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the Burning Fire
- 11Verse 11
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُمۡ جَنَّـٰتٞ تَجۡرِي مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلۡفَوۡزُ ٱلۡكَبِيرُ
Inna allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati lahum jannatun tajree min tahtiha alanharu thalika alfawzu alkabeeruIndeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds will have gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great attainment
- 12Verse 12
إِنَّ بَطۡشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيدٌ
Inna batsha rabbika lashadeedunIndeed, the vengeance of your Lord is severe
- 13Verse 13
إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ يُبۡدِئُ وَيُعِيدُ
Innahu huwa yubdio wayuAAeeduIndeed, it is He who originates [creation] and repeats
- 14Verse 14
وَهُوَ ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلۡوَدُودُ
Wahuwa alghafooru alwadooduAnd He is the Forgiving, the Affectionate
- 15Verse 15
ذُو ٱلۡعَرۡشِ ٱلۡمَجِيدُ
Thoo alAAarshi almajeediHonorable Owner of the Throne
- 16Verse 16
فَعَّالٞ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ
FaAAAAalun lima yureeduEffecter of what He intends
- 17Verse 17
هَلۡ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلۡجُنُودِ
Hal ataka hadeethu aljunoodiHas there reached you the story of the soldiers
- 18Verse 18
فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَثَمُودَ
FirAAawna wathamooda[Those of] Pharaoh and Thamud
- 19Verse 19
بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ فِي تَكۡذِيبٖ
Bali allatheena kafaroo fee taktheebinBut they who disbelieve are in [persistent] denial
- 20Verse 20
وَٱللَّهُ مِن وَرَآئِهِم مُّحِيطُۢ
WaAllahu min waraihim muheetunWhile Allah encompasses them from behind
- 21Verse 21
بَلۡ هُوَ قُرۡءَانٞ مَّجِيدٞ
Bal huwa quranun majeedunBut this is an honored Qur'an
- 22Verse 22
فِي لَوۡحٖ مَّحۡفُوظِۭ
Fee lawhin mahfoothin[Inscribed] in a Preserved Slate
