إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنشَقَّتۡ
Itha alssamao inshaqqatWhen the sky has split [open]
- 2Verse 2
وَأَذِنَتۡ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتۡ
Waathinat lirabbiha wahuqqatAnd has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so]
- 3Verse 3
وَإِذَا ٱلۡأَرۡضُ مُدَّتۡ
Waitha alardu muddatAnd when the earth has been extended
- 4Verse 4
وَأَلۡقَتۡ مَا فِيهَا وَتَخَلَّتۡ
Waalqat ma feeha watakhallatAnd has cast out that within it and relinquished [it]
- 5Verse 5
وَأَذِنَتۡ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتۡ
Waathinat lirabbiha wahuqqatAnd has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so]
- 6Verse 6
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ إِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَدۡحٗا فَمُلَٰقِيهِ
Ya ayyuha alinsanu innaka kadihun ila rabbika kadhan famulaqeehiO mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it
- 7Verse 7
فَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِيَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ بِيَمِينِهِۦ
Faama man ootiya kitabahu biyameenihiThen as for he who is given his record in his right hand
- 8Verse 8
فَسَوۡفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابٗا يَسِيرٗا
Fasawfa yuhasabu hisaban yaseeranHe will be judged with an easy account
- 9Verse 9
وَيَنقَلِبُ إِلَىٰٓ أَهۡلِهِۦ مَسۡرُورٗا
Wayanqalibu ila ahlihi masrooranAnd return to his people in happiness
- 10Verse 10
وَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِيَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ وَرَآءَ ظَهۡرِهِۦ
Waamma man ootiya kitabahu waraa thahrihiBut as for he who is given his record behind his back
- 11Verse 11
فَسَوۡفَ يَدۡعُواْ ثُبُورٗا
Fasawfa yadAAoo thubooranHe will cry out for destruction
- 12Verse 12
وَيَصۡلَىٰ سَعِيرًا
Wayasla saAAeeranAnd [enter to] burn in a Blaze
- 13Verse 13
إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فِيٓ أَهۡلِهِۦ مَسۡرُورًا
Innahu kana fee ahlihi masrooranIndeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness
- 14Verse 14
إِنَّهُۥ ظَنَّ أَن لَّن يَحُورَ
Innahu thanna an lan yahooraIndeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]
- 15Verse 15
بَلَىٰٓۚ إِنَّ رَبَّهُۥ كَانَ بِهِۦ بَصِيرٗا
Bala inna rabbahu kana bihi baseeranBut yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing
- 16Verse 16
فَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِٱلشَّفَقِ
Fala oqsimu bialshshafaqiSo I swear by the twilight glow
- 17Verse 17
وَٱلَّيۡلِ وَمَا وَسَقَ
Waallayli wama wasaqaAnd [by] the night and what it envelops
- 18Verse 18
وَٱلۡقَمَرِ إِذَا ٱتَّسَقَ
Waalqamari itha ittasaqaAnd [by] the moon when it becomes full
- 19Verse 19
لَتَرۡكَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَن طَبَقٖ
Latarkabunna tabaqan AAan tabaqin[That] you will surely experience state after state
- 20Verse 20
فَمَا لَهُمۡ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ
Fama lahum la yuminoonaSo what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe
- 21Verse 21
وَإِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانُ لَا يَسۡجُدُونَۤ۩
Waitha quria AAalayhimu alquranu la yasjudoonaAnd when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allah]
- 22Verse 22
بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ يُكَذِّبُونَ
Bali allatheena kafaroo yukaththiboonaBut those who have disbelieved deny
- 23Verse 23
وَٱللَّهُ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَا يُوعُونَ
WaAllahu aAAlamu bima yooAAoonaAnd Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves
- 24Verse 24
فَبَشِّرۡهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
Fabashshirhum biAAathabin aleeminSo give them tidings of a painful punishment
- 25Verse 25
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُمۡ أَجۡرٌ غَيۡرُ مَمۡنُونِۭ
Illa allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati lahum ajrun ghayru mamnooninExcept for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted
