  1. 1Verse 1

    إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنشَقَّتۡ

    Itha alssamao inshaqqat

    When the sky has split [open]

  2. 2Verse 2

    وَأَذِنَتۡ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتۡ

    Waathinat lirabbiha wahuqqat

    And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so]

  3. 3Verse 3

    وَإِذَا ٱلۡأَرۡضُ مُدَّتۡ

    Waitha alardu muddat

    And when the earth has been extended

  4. 4Verse 4

    وَأَلۡقَتۡ مَا فِيهَا وَتَخَلَّتۡ

    Waalqat ma feeha watakhallat

    And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it]

  5. 5Verse 5

    وَأَذِنَتۡ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتۡ

    Waathinat lirabbiha wahuqqat

    And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so]

  6. 6Verse 6

    يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ إِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَدۡحٗا فَمُلَٰقِيهِ

    Ya ayyuha alinsanu innaka kadihun ila rabbika kadhan famulaqeehi

    O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it

  7. 7Verse 7

    فَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِيَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ بِيَمِينِهِۦ

    Faama man ootiya kitabahu biyameenihi

    Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand

  8. 8Verse 8

    فَسَوۡفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابٗا يَسِيرٗا

    Fasawfa yuhasabu hisaban yaseeran

    He will be judged with an easy account

  9. 9Verse 9

    وَيَنقَلِبُ إِلَىٰٓ أَهۡلِهِۦ مَسۡرُورٗا

    Wayanqalibu ila ahlihi masrooran

    And return to his people in happiness

  10. 10Verse 10

    وَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِيَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ وَرَآءَ ظَهۡرِهِۦ

    Waamma man ootiya kitabahu waraa thahrihi

    But as for he who is given his record behind his back

  11. 11Verse 11

    فَسَوۡفَ يَدۡعُواْ ثُبُورٗا

    Fasawfa yadAAoo thubooran

    He will cry out for destruction

  12. 12Verse 12

    وَيَصۡلَىٰ سَعِيرًا

    Wayasla saAAeeran

    And [enter to] burn in a Blaze

  13. 13Verse 13

    إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فِيٓ أَهۡلِهِۦ مَسۡرُورًا

    Innahu kana fee ahlihi masrooran

    Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness

  14. 14Verse 14

    إِنَّهُۥ ظَنَّ أَن لَّن يَحُورَ

    Innahu thanna an lan yahoora

    Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]

  15. 15Verse 15

    بَلَىٰٓۚ إِنَّ رَبَّهُۥ كَانَ بِهِۦ بَصِيرٗا

    Bala inna rabbahu kana bihi baseeran

    But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing

  16. 16Verse 16

    فَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِٱلشَّفَقِ

    Fala oqsimu bialshshafaqi

    So I swear by the twilight glow

  17. 17Verse 17

    وَٱلَّيۡلِ وَمَا وَسَقَ

    Waallayli wama wasaqa

    And [by] the night and what it envelops

  18. 18Verse 18

    وَٱلۡقَمَرِ إِذَا ٱتَّسَقَ

    Waalqamari itha ittasaqa

    And [by] the moon when it becomes full

  19. 19Verse 19

    لَتَرۡكَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَن طَبَقٖ

    Latarkabunna tabaqan AAan tabaqin

    [That] you will surely experience state after state

  20. 20Verse 20

    فَمَا لَهُمۡ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ

    Fama lahum la yuminoona

    So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe

  21. 21Verse 21

    وَإِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانُ لَا يَسۡجُدُونَۤ۩

    Waitha quria AAalayhimu alquranu la yasjudoona

    And when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allah]

  22. 22Verse 22

    بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ يُكَذِّبُونَ

    Bali allatheena kafaroo yukaththiboona

    But those who have disbelieved deny

  23. 23Verse 23

    وَٱللَّهُ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَا يُوعُونَ

    WaAllahu aAAlamu bima yooAAoona

    And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves

  24. 24Verse 24

    فَبَشِّرۡهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ

    Fabashshirhum biAAathabin aleemin

    So give them tidings of a painful punishment

  25. 25Verse 25

    إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُمۡ أَجۡرٌ غَيۡرُ مَمۡنُونِۭ

    Illa allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati lahum ajrun ghayru mamnoonin

    Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted
