وَيۡلٞ لِّلۡمُطَفِّفِينَ
Waylun lilmutaffifeenaWoe to those who give less [than due]
- 2Verse 2
ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا ٱكۡتَالُواْ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ يَسۡتَوۡفُونَ
Allatheena itha iktaloo AAala alnnasi yastawfoonaWho, when they take a measure from people, take in full
- 3Verse 3
وَإِذَا كَالُوهُمۡ أَو وَّزَنُوهُمۡ يُخۡسِرُونَ
Waitha kaloohum aw wazanoohum yukhsiroonaBut if they give by measure or by weight to them, they cause loss
- 4Verse 4
أَلَا يَظُنُّ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ أَنَّهُم مَّبۡعُوثُونَ
Ala yathunnu olaika annahum mabAAoothoonaDo they not think that they will be resurrected
- 5Verse 5
لِيَوۡمٍ عَظِيمٖ
Liyawmin AAatheeminFor a tremendous Day
- 6Verse 6
يَوۡمَ يَقُومُ ٱلنَّاسُ لِرَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
Yawma yaqoomu alnnasu lirabbi alAAalameenaThe Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the worlds
- 7Verse 7
كَلَّآ إِنَّ كِتَٰبَ ٱلۡفُجَّارِ لَفِي سِجِّينٖ
Kalla inna kitaba alfujjari lafee sijjeeninNo! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in sijjeen
- 8Verse 8
وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا سِجِّينٞ
Wama adraka ma sijjeenunAnd what can make you know what is sijjeen
- 9Verse 9
كِتَٰبٞ مَّرۡقُومٞ
Kitabun marqoomunIt is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed
- 10Verse 10
وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
Waylun yawmaithin lilmukaththibeenaWoe, that Day, to the deniers
- 11Verse 11
ٱلَّذِينَ يُكَذِّبُونَ بِيَوۡمِ ٱلدِّينِ
Allatheena yukaththiboona biyawmi alddeeniWho deny the Day of Recompense
- 12Verse 12
وَمَا يُكَذِّبُ بِهِۦٓ إِلَّا كُلُّ مُعۡتَدٍ أَثِيمٍ
Wama yukaththibu bihi illa kullu muAAtadin atheeminAnd none deny it except every sinful transgressor
- 13Verse 13
إِذَا تُتۡلَىٰ عَلَيۡهِ ءَايَٰتُنَا قَالَ أَسَٰطِيرُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
Itha tutla AAalayhi ayatuna qala asateeru alawwaleenaWhen Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples
- 14Verse 14
كَلَّاۖ بَلۡۜ رَانَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِم مَّا كَانُواْ يَكۡسِبُونَ
Kalla bal rana AAala quloobihim ma kanoo yaksiboonaNo! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts of that which they were earning
- 15Verse 15
كَلَّآ إِنَّهُمۡ عَن رَّبِّهِمۡ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لَّمَحۡجُوبُونَ
Kalla innahum AAan rabbihim yawmaithin lamahjooboonaNo! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned
- 16Verse 16
ثُمَّ إِنَّهُمۡ لَصَالُواْ ٱلۡجَحِيمِ
Thumma innahum lasaloo aljaheemiThen indeed, they will [enter and] burn in Hellfire
- 17Verse 17
ثُمَّ يُقَالُ هَٰذَا ٱلَّذِي كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ
Thumma yuqalu hatha allathee kuntum bihi tukaththiboonaThen it will be said [to them], "This is what you used to deny
- 18Verse 18
كَلَّآ إِنَّ كِتَٰبَ ٱلۡأَبۡرَارِ لَفِي عِلِّيِّينَ
Kalla inna kitaba alabrari lafee AAilliyyeenaNo! Indeed, the record of the righteous is in 'illiyyun
- 19Verse 19
وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا عِلِّيُّونَ
Wama adraka ma AAilliyyoonaAnd what can make you know what is 'illiyyun
- 20Verse 20
كِتَٰبٞ مَّرۡقُومٞ
Kitabun marqoomunIt is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed
- 21Verse 21
يَشۡهَدُهُ ٱلۡمُقَرَّبُونَ
Yashhaduhu almuqarraboonaWhich is witnessed by those brought near [to Allah]
- 22Verse 22
إِنَّ ٱلۡأَبۡرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٍ
Inna alabrara lafee naAAeeminIndeed, the righteous will be in pleasure
- 23Verse 23
عَلَى ٱلۡأَرَآئِكِ يَنظُرُونَ
AAala alaraiki yanthuroonaOn adorned couches, observing
- 24Verse 24
تَعۡرِفُ فِي وُجُوهِهِمۡ نَضۡرَةَ ٱلنَّعِيمِ
TaAArifu fee wujoohihim nadrata alnnaAAeemiYou will recognize in their faces the radiance of pleasure
- 25Verse 25
يُسۡقَوۡنَ مِن رَّحِيقٖ مَّخۡتُومٍ
Yusqawna min raheeqin makhtoominThey will be given to drink [pure] wine [which was] sealed
- 26Verse 26
خِتَٰمُهُۥ مِسۡكٞۚ وَفِي ذَٰلِكَ فَلۡيَتَنَافَسِ ٱلۡمُتَنَٰفِسُونَ
Khitamuhu miskun wafee thalika falyatanafasi almutanafisoonaThe last of it is musk. So for this let the competitors compete
- 27Verse 27
وَمِزَاجُهُۥ مِن تَسۡنِيمٍ
Wamizajuhu min tasneeminAnd its mixture is of Tasneem
- 28Verse 28
عَيۡنٗا يَشۡرَبُ بِهَا ٱلۡمُقَرَّبُونَ
AAaynan yashrabu biha almuqarraboonaA spring from which those near [to Allah] drink
- 29Verse 29
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ أَجۡرَمُواْ كَانُواْ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ يَضۡحَكُونَ
Inna allatheena ajramoo kanoo mina allatheena amanoo yadhakoonaIndeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed
- 30Verse 30
وَإِذَا مَرُّواْ بِهِمۡ يَتَغَامَزُونَ
Waitha marroo bihim yataghamazoonaAnd when they passed by them, they would exchange derisive glances
- 31Verse 31
وَإِذَا ٱنقَلَبُوٓاْ إِلَىٰٓ أَهۡلِهِمُ ٱنقَلَبُواْ فَكِهِينَ
Waitha inqalaboo ila ahlihimu inqalaboo fakiheenaAnd when they returned to their people, they would return jesting
- 32Verse 32
وَإِذَا رَأَوۡهُمۡ قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَضَآلُّونَ
Waitha raawhum qaloo inna haolai ladalloonaAnd when they saw them, they would say, "Indeed, those are truly lost
- 33Verse 33
وَمَآ أُرۡسِلُواْ عَلَيۡهِمۡ حَٰفِظِينَ
Wama orsiloo AAalayhim hafitheenaBut they had not been sent as guardians over them
- 34Verse 34
فَٱلۡيَوۡمَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مِنَ ٱلۡكُفَّارِ يَضۡحَكُونَ
Faalyawma allatheena amanoo mina alkuffari yadhakoonaSo Today those who believed are laughing at the disbelievers
- 35Verse 35
عَلَى ٱلۡأَرَآئِكِ يَنظُرُونَ
AAala alaraiki yanthuroonaOn adorned couches, observing
- 36Verse 36
هَلۡ ثُوِّبَ ٱلۡكُفَّارُ مَا كَانُواْ يَفۡعَلُونَ
Hal thuwwiba alkuffaru ma kanoo yafAAaloonaHave the disbelievers [not] been rewarded [this Day] for what they used to do
