  1. 1Verse 1

    وَٱلۡفَجۡرِ

    Waalfajri

    By the dawn

  2. 2Verse 2

    وَلَيَالٍ عَشۡرٖ

    Walayalin AAashrin

    And [by] ten nights

  3. 3Verse 3

    وَٱلشَّفۡعِ وَٱلۡوَتۡرِ

    WaalshshafAAi waalwatri

    And [by] the even [number] and the odd

  4. 4Verse 4

    وَٱلَّيۡلِ إِذَا يَسۡرِ

    Waallayli itha yasri

    And [by] the night when it passes

  5. 5Verse 5

    هَلۡ فِي ذَٰلِكَ قَسَمٞ لِّذِي حِجۡرٍ

    Hal fee thalika qasamun lithee hijrin

    Is there [not] in [all] that an oath [sufficient] for one of perception

  6. 6Verse 6

    أَلَمۡ تَرَ كَيۡفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِعَادٍ

    Alam tara kayfa faAAala rabbuka biAAadin

    Have you not considered how your Lord dealt with 'Aad

  7. 7Verse 7

    إِرَمَ ذَاتِ ٱلۡعِمَادِ

    Irama thati alAAimadi

    [With] Iram - who had lofty pillars

  8. 8Verse 8

    ٱلَّتِي لَمۡ يُخۡلَقۡ مِثۡلُهَا فِي ٱلۡبِلَٰدِ

    Allatee lam yukhlaq mithluha fee albiladi

    The likes of whom had never been created in the land

  9. 9Verse 9

    وَثَمُودَ ٱلَّذِينَ جَابُواْ ٱلصَّخۡرَ بِٱلۡوَادِ

    Wathamooda allatheena jaboo alssakhra bialwadi

    And [with] Thamud, who carved out the rocks in the valley

  10. 10Verse 10

    وَفِرۡعَوۡنَ ذِي ٱلۡأَوۡتَادِ

    WafirAAawna thee alawtadi

    And [with] Pharaoh, owner of the stakes

  11. 11Verse 11

    ٱلَّذِينَ طَغَوۡاْ فِي ٱلۡبِلَٰدِ

    Allatheena taghaw fee albiladi

    [All of] whom oppressed within the lands

  12. 12Verse 12

    فَأَكۡثَرُواْ فِيهَا ٱلۡفَسَادَ

    Faaktharoo feeha alfasada

    And increased therein the corruption

  13. 13Verse 13

    فَصَبَّ عَلَيۡهِمۡ رَبُّكَ سَوۡطَ عَذَابٍ

    Fasabba AAalayhim rabbuka sawta AAathabin

    So your Lord poured upon them a scourge of punishment

  14. 14Verse 14

    إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَبِٱلۡمِرۡصَادِ

    Inna rabbaka labialmirsadi

    Indeed, your Lord is in observation

  15. 15Verse 15

    فَأَمَّا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ إِذَا مَا ٱبۡتَلَىٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ فَأَكۡرَمَهُۥ وَنَعَّمَهُۥ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّيٓ أَكۡرَمَنِ

    Faamma alinsanu itha ma ibtalahu rabbuhu faakramahu wanaAAAAamahu fayaqoolu rabbee akramani

    And as for man, when his Lord tries him and [thus] is generous to him and favors him, he says, "My Lord has honored me

  16. 16Verse 16

    وَأَمَّآ إِذَا مَا ٱبۡتَلَىٰهُ فَقَدَرَ عَلَيۡهِ رِزۡقَهُۥ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّيٓ أَهَٰنَنِ

    Waamma itha ma ibtalahu faqadara AAalayhi rizqahu fayaqoolu rabbee ahanani

    But when He tries him and restricts his provision, he says, "My Lord has humiliated me

  17. 17Verse 17

    كَلَّاۖ بَل لَّا تُكۡرِمُونَ ٱلۡيَتِيمَ

    Kalla bal la tukrimoona alyateema

    No! But you do not honor the orphan

  18. 18Verse 18

    وَلَا تَحَـٰٓضُّونَ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلۡمِسۡكِينِ

    Wala tahaddoona AAala taAAami almiskeeni

    And you do not encourage one another to feed the poor

  19. 19Verse 19

    وَتَأۡكُلُونَ ٱلتُّرَاثَ أَكۡلٗا لَّمّٗا

    Watakuloona altturatha aklan lamman

    And you consume inheritance, devouring [it] altogether

  20. 20Verse 20

    وَتُحِبُّونَ ٱلۡمَالَ حُبّٗا جَمّٗا

    Watuhibboona almala hubban jamman

    And you love wealth with immense love

  21. 21Verse 21

    كَلَّآۖ إِذَا دُكَّتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ دَكّٗا دَكّٗا

    Kalla itha dukkati alardu dakkan dakkan

    No! When the earth has been leveled - pounded and crushed

  22. 22Verse 22

    وَجَآءَ رَبُّكَ وَٱلۡمَلَكُ صَفّٗا صَفّٗا

    Wajaa rabbuka waalmalaku saffan saffan

    And your Lord has come and the angels, rank upon rank

  23. 23Verse 23

    وَجِاْيٓءَ يَوۡمَئِذِۭ بِجَهَنَّمَۚ يَوۡمَئِذٖ يَتَذَكَّرُ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ وَأَنَّىٰ لَهُ ٱلذِّكۡرَىٰ

    Wajeea yawmaithin bijahannama yawmaithin yatathakkaru alinsanu waanna lahu alththikra

    And brought [within view], that Day, is Hell - that Day, man will remember, but what good to him will be the remembrance

  24. 24Verse 24

    يَقُولُ يَٰلَيۡتَنِي قَدَّمۡتُ لِحَيَاتِي

    Yaqoolu ya laytanee qaddamtu lihayatee

    He will say, "Oh, I wish I had sent ahead [some good] for my life

  25. 25Verse 25

    فَيَوۡمَئِذٖ لَّا يُعَذِّبُ عَذَابَهُۥٓ أَحَدٞ

    Fayawmaithin la yuAAaththibu AAathabahu ahadun

    So on that Day, none will punish [as severely] as His punishment

  26. 26Verse 26

    وَلَا يُوثِقُ وَثَاقَهُۥٓ أَحَدٞ

    Wala yoothiqu wathaqahu ahadun

    And none will bind [as severely] as His binding [of the evildoers]

  27. 27Verse 27

    يَـٰٓأَيَّتُهَا ٱلنَّفۡسُ ٱلۡمُطۡمَئِنَّةُ

    Ya ayyatuha alnnafsu almutmainnatu

    [To the righteous it will be said], "O reassured soul

  28. 28Verse 28

    ٱرۡجِعِيٓ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةٗ مَّرۡضِيَّةٗ

    IrjiAAee ila rabbiki radiyatan mardiyyatan

    Return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing [to Him]

  29. 29Verse 29

    فَٱدۡخُلِي فِي عِبَٰدِي

    Faodkhulee fee AAibadee

    And enter among My [righteous] servants

  30. 30Verse 30

    وَٱدۡخُلِي جَنَّتِي

    Waodkhulee jannatee

    And enter My Paradise
